Day 67 - but who's counting. lol
I was going to wait until everything is finished but decided I would go ahead and post now since we're so close and Pat was asking me about the kitchen.
If you go back and compare pictures to the original kitchen you'll see that things are in pretty much the same place - sink, fridge, stove - they just look nothing like the old other than the colour.
It has been a much harder renovation than I thought it would be - there have been some disappointments, some miscommunication, some mistakes. I guess no renovation goes smoothly all the way but I now know some things I'd do differently but doubt very much if I'll ever get the chance to put them into practice :)
My kitchen is beautiful and mostly works very well. Tom's favourite thing is the garbage - I just realized I forgot to take a picture of it but it's a pull-out that has room for food garbage, garbage-garbage as I call it, paper recycling and other recycling. Tom thinks that's pretty neat. I'll make sure I put in a picture of it when I post the final pictures.
When one of the kids asked me my favourite part, I thought about it for a minute and then said my range - I got an induction top with a convection oven. I love the easy clean up of the glass top and love how quickly it heats up. The oven is large enough for cookie sheets sideways (something my old oven couldn't do). I also love the extra room so I can spread things out instead of filling every drawer to get everything in.
Another favourite part is having the kitchen back and being able to bring our furniture back into the great room.
