Day 15

Today we drove to Chinle to view the canyon there. The Indians lived in the canyon and farmed growing tobacco, corn, beans and squash. The piuctures looked too difficult to see so I did not include them.

This picture was taken after going through a high mountain range and coming across this community built around the river. They flood their fields to water them and are thereby able to grow alfalfa - worth over $8 a bale. Most of today was spent on the Navajo Reservation. Most of their housing is identical to each other and very plain.
When we were coming around the last curve at the top of the mountain range Tom looked out and saw this lone mountain out about 10 miles, so he thought, and standing all alone. After about 1/2 hour we started to get close enough to picture it.Matt suggested we take a picture of the two of us and take it outside the car :) So Matt here's the picture you asked for. Dad suggested this and I thought it was a great idea.,
